Senet is a small mountain village, located at
an altitude of 1340 m, which belongs to the Alta Ribagorça, a Catalan region
bordered to the north by the Vall d’Aran, to the south by the Pallars Jussà, to
the east by the Pallars Sobirà and to the west by Aragó.
There are currently 40 registered inhabitants
in the village throughout the year. During the summer, the village has more
life and there are a couple of families living during the whole summer,
nonetheless it’s a place of calmness and tranquility .
It is a quiet place far away from noise and environmental pollution; very rural and full of natural goodness. The best thing about our village is the freedom of walking by without any cars around and the sensation of freedom. The scarce presence of cars and the calmness that one breathes has led two summer camps to establish themselves there; these, together with the apartments, are the only “business” that exists in the village.
There is also an information and interpretation center for the Aigüestortes and Estany de Sant Maurici National Park. At the very heart of the village is the Romanesque church of Santa Cecília, which was built in the 11th century and still preserves its essence today. At 1.9 km there is Aneto, a small village where there is the nearest restaurant. The nearest shopping centers are Vilaller (10′ by car), Viella (20′ by car) and Pont de Suert (20′ by car).
