Senet is a small mountain village, situated at the foot of the 1,340 metres It belongs to the Alta Ribagorza, a Catalan region bordered to the north by the Vall d'Aran, to the south by the Pallars Jussà, to the east by the Pallars Sobirà and to the west by Aragon.
At present the village has 40 registered inhabitants, but approximately ten houses are permanently inhabited throughout the year. During the winter and summer holidays, the village fills up with other Senetinos and Senetinas who have a second home.
It is a place quiet and away from noise and environmental pollutionIt is a very rural village. In fact, the road does not pass through the village and the streets are pedestrianised. The scarce presence of cars and the calm atmosphere is what has led two summer camp houses to establish themselves there.
The village of Senet is not only crossed by the Way of St. James, but also by the river Noguera Ribagorçana, where the most daring people bathe in summer.
There is also an information and interpretation centre for the Parc Nacional d'Aigüestortes i Estany de Sant Maurici. In the middle of the village we find the Romanesque church of Santa Cecília, which was built in the 11th century and still preserves its essence. At 1.9 km we have the village of Aneto, a small village where the nearest restaurant is located. The other nearest shopping centres are in Vilaller (10' by car), Vielha (20' by car) or Pont de Suert (20' by car).
